What is food to one man may be fierce poison to others.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 16
Pretty good day. Not the best, not the worst. Not necessarily up nor down. I wouldn’t say I had a ton of energy, though. Also my sleeping tends to be getting a bit out of hand, as I am sleeping longer. I don’t think I need 8.5 to 9 hours of sleep. Does this mean I have to start using the alarm clock? I think I will at least for a little while.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 15
The official half way point! It feels good to feel good again! I went back to my normal activity levels today, although my sleeping schedule doesn’t seem to be as rock solid as it was before. I need to make more of an effort to get it back.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 14
Boy, that was a short entry yesterday, and looking back on it, I’m pretty sure I knew why.

I felt terrible! I just felt like doing nothing at all, and that is exactly what I did. I barely felt like moving. Very sluggish, very tired, had a very cloudy mind. I probably slept longer than I should have, and I did no mental or physical activity whatsoever.

I blame all of this on what I had eaten yesterday. While delicious, my body completely rejected it and practically shut down! What a great way of ending the second week. Oh well, no matter, I have lots of pretty charts and data for you to look at!

All I ask of food is that it doesn’t harm me.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 13
I feel as if the worst is over in regards to any detoxification symptoms. My canker sore is going away, with the help of the topical treatment, and everything is going well. I slept a little longer than usual today (8.5 hours) but I’m assuming my body needed the extra rest.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 12
Alright, so things seem to be getting better. I’m waking up with more moisture and I feel as if the detoxification symptoms are on their way out. The one absolutely stable thing throughout this entire trial has been my sleeping schedule. I can’t tell you how absolutely awful it was before, but I can try.

Some nights, I would wake up at 9 P.M. Others, I would wake up at 2 A.M. What about 12 P.M.? Yep. The problem was that I had no schedule. Each and every night it would change wildly, like I had no circadian rhythm whatsoever. I tried everything from different herbs, different forms of exercise, being outside for great lengths of time, to even abusing things like NyQuil and caffeine to give me some sort of structure. So the fact that I now have a regular sleeping schedule, that is extremely firm, is a God send. It makes this whole trial worth doing.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 11
Once again, I woke up with little moisture. I don’t know what it is, but it is starting to wear on me. If this is just an accepted trait of the raw foods diet, there is absolutely no way it is worth continuing after the 30 days. If it isn’t, and it’s just a “detox” symptom, then that is something else entirely. Either way, tomorrow I really need to get something for the sore inside my mouth. No more waiting for this raw foods diet to heal it.

It’s been said that half the fuel used in the world goes to the cooking of food. We use more fuel for cooking than we do for driving our cars

Raw Foods Diet: Day 10
Woke up feeling VERY dry today. My lips have no moisture on them whatsoever. I woke up first at 3:00 A.M. then went back to bed until 5:30 A.M. The 3:00 A.M. wake up is becoming a regular thing. Maybe 7.5 hours is too much, and my body only needs 6 hours?

Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 9
At least I have some sort of sleeping schedule, even if it is a crazy one. I am having some detoxification symptoms that are pretty annoying. These include things like: waking up pretty dry, a cold sore that hurts when I talk, etc. But, I don’t seem to be getting as tired as I was before. So that’s good.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 8
I went to bed late, as was my goal, to see if I felt any different. I woke up around 5 AM and started my day. It was more normal as I wasn’t the only one walking around, but I did miss having the workout room to myself. I used to be able to turn the TVs on to the Blues music channel and rock out, but now everyone else just watches the news. Yikes.

Raw Foods Diet: Day 7
I actually got up at around 3 A.M. and could not go back to bed! I felt refreshed, and got enough sleep, but boy, is that early. Who on earth gets up at that time? I used to not even be tired by 3 A.M. How things have changed…

In other news, it’s been a week! I’ve included graphs of my progress in this entry (Weight, Blood Pressure, Temperature, Resting Heart Rate) so you can see what has changed, what hasn’t, and what’s pretty much meaningless so far.
