Raw Foods Diet: Day 14
Boy, that was a short entry yesterday, and looking back on it, I’m pretty sure I knew why.

I felt terrible! I just felt like doing nothing at all, and that is exactly what I did. I barely felt like moving. Very sluggish, very tired, had a very cloudy mind. I probably slept longer than I should have, and I did no mental or physical activity whatsoever.

I blame all of this on what I had eaten yesterday. While delicious, my body completely rejected it and practically shut down! What a great way of ending the second week. Oh well, no matter, I have lots of pretty charts and data for you to look at!

Mind
Mind? What mind? I’m reminded of the tune Where is My Mind by The Pixies. I think that sums it about up.

Body
Weight Chart for Weeks 1 and 2

Trend? – Yes. There is a definite trend. It pains me to watch my weight go down, but I have to be okay with it, because my ultimate goal is health, and I need to find out what that is for my own body. I expect to get pretty low in weight, but it is still something that I should be watching. As you can see, the two weeks have no correlating points whatsoever, meaning I didn’t return to any of my previous weights. Week 2 also seemed to be a bit more up and down, but I am not sure as to why.
Week 2 High – Days 2 and 4 at 161.4 pounds.
Week 2 Low – Day 7 at 159.4 pounds.
Total Change in Two Weeks: - 6.6 pounds.

Blood Pressure-Systolic Chart for Weeks 1 and 2

Trend? – No. The only thing we can tell is that this diet is obviously not really affecting my blood pressure. Ups and downs come pretty regularly with blood pressure. It even dramatically changes throughout the day or depending on what you just did or ate. I have good blood pressure and the stresses of this diet have yet to change that.
Week 2 High – Day 10 at 114.
Week 2 Low – Day 8 at 103.
Total Change in Two Weeks: - 11.

Blood Pressure-Diastolic Chart for Weeks 1 and 2

Trend? – This actually looks even crazier than the Systolic chart! I could make a stretch and say that it looks as if it is less wild this week, but I’m not sure I’d call it an actual trend since I am not sure what will happen next week.
Week 2 High – Day 9 at 74.
Week 2 Low – Day 12 at 68.
Total Change in Two Weeks: - 6.

Temperature Chart for Weeks 1 and 2

Trend? – It may not look like it from the chart, but I believe there was a definite trend. Look at how many days (4) my temperature was at 98.0 degrees. Could it be stabilizing or was it just for this week?
Week 2 High – Days 8, 9, 11, and 13 at 98.0 degrees Fahrenheit.
Week 2 Low – Day 14 at 96.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
Total Change in Two Weeks:- 0.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

Resting Heart Rate Chart for Weeks 1 and 2

Trend?Yes. My resting heart rate seems to be inching downwards and seems to be much more consistent this week. It will be interesting to see if this pattern continues or not.
Week 2 High – Day 8 at 68 beats per minute.
Week 2 Low – Day 14 at 59 beats per minute.
Total Change: - 9 beats per minute.

  • Weight: – 159.4 +/-: -0.4 today/-6.6 total
  • Blood Pressure: – 110/72 +/-: +2/+2 today/-13/-6 total
  • Body Temperature: – 96.6 +/-: -1.4today/-0.4 total
  • Resting Heart Rate: – 59 +/-: -1 today/-9 total
  • Food Eaten
Definitely did not eat enough, but it was because of how I was feeling and my activity level. I have learned my lesson about fat. I have also learned that if you can’t make a meal out of it, then you shouldn’t eat it (on a raw foods trial). This means stay away from onions!

    Meal 1
    1 apple

    Meal 2
    1 apple

    Meal 3
A smoothie consisting of: 2 frozen bananas and 3 handfuls of spinach. This was extremely soothing and relaxing, especially since the bananas were frozen. All I have left is frozen bananas, time to order some more!

    Meal 4
A smoothie consisting of: 2 frozen bananas, 3 pineapple slices, and 1 orange. This was heavenly. Very, very good.

    Overall
It has been a great two weeks, with its fair share of ups and downs, but I have learned a lot about myself, and my body, through this process. Thanks to everyone for reading and commenting. Just about halfway done!

I think that below 96.5 and your considered hypothermic. maybe thats 95.6 though. anyway, that one day your temp was way down. I also wonder how much of that daily fluctuation in weight has to do with your age. I have hear that as a young person, there is no such thing as a truly steady weight and that it can fluctuate wildly up and down up to 5 or ten pounds ever day or so but weekly too. i do think though that you are losing weight and agree with that. maybe it was stress though too, like you retained water and it made you gain a pound or two.
im glad im not losing anymore weight though. good luck man and keep up the good work

Your journey should be inspiration to us all. It certainly is for me. To remain focused on this way of eating, to understand what your body needs, and to record it for all of us us— is truly amazing!

      Giant,

Is that true? I have hit that a few times throughout the day before. Wouldn’t you be classified as a young person as well?

      Rebecca,

      Thanks!

      james cebastien,

You’ll find one of yours being used in the next post! Thanks!

      Deborah,
