Raw Foods Diet: Day 26

Raw Foods Diet: Day 26
Sleeping has become normalized. So that’s good. It’s not exactly back to the 8:30/9:00 P.M. – 4:30 A.M. situation, but that’s okay. I’m getting enough sleep, I am waking up feeling pretty refreshed, so I can’t complain.
Mind
I got really aggravated with the idea of even doing a morning page today. For anyone that doesn’t remember what that is, it is basically a way to get your creativity going by writing in the morning. It is usually a few pages, but I am just sticking with one page for now. You start writing and don’t stop. It is almost a trance-like state. You just write and write until you are done with the page. You don’t stop to correct things or think about what you just wrote, and they do not even need to be complete thoughts. I have gotten a lot of interesting ideas out of this thus far, and I can really see why so many people do this now.
Body
Food Eaten
Well, I didn’t eat enough, but this time it wasn’t my fault! Peapod never showed up! Apparently, there was some mix up, so now I have to wait until tomorrow morning. This forced me to go down to the small market they have here and get some conventional produce. Unfortunately, they only had a few that were even partially ripe. I hate how I am so dependent on the ripeness of Chicago-wide produce. In winter.
Meal 1
(1) 108g banana
Meal 2
A smoothie consisting of: (1) 149g orange, (4 [1 frozen]) 424g banana
Meal 3
A smoothie consisting of: (4 [1 frozen]) 437g banana, 103g. regular spinach. Tastes the same to me as baby spinach, and is cheaper!
Meal 4
A smoothie consisting of: (4 [1 frozen]) 414g banana, 100g. regular spinach.
Meal 5
(2) 175g banana. CONVENTIONAL! I also bought an avocado, in the hopes of getting more calories in, but it was EXTREMELY under-ripe when I cut it. Oddly enough, it felt like it should have been at least somewhat ripe.
Totals for the day were…
1,675 calories
380.7g Carbohydrates, 6.1g Fat, 24.2g Protein
Macro nutrient ratio: 90%/4%/6%
Overall
Another good day. Not a great one, but a good one. Pretty normal. I don’t think this diet is going to give me good or bad days any longer, as I feel I am pretty adjusted to it. It hasn’t been necessarily magical for me, but at the same time, at this point, it isn’t that difficult either.

I think you did a great job of giving this diet a fair shot. I’m curious if you feel differently in a “state of mind” sense. Did your overall sense of well being increase or decrease? I notice some rather unpleasent physical symptoms with this fruit diet, less now, but I really do feel a mood elevation. I tend to lurk toward the dark side normally and a few weeks into this diet, I can’t even find the things I normally fret about. Here’s wishing you all the best. Great job!

ladymacbeth,
I appreciate that. I really do. I wanted this diet to work, and I wanted it to be perfect for me. It was hard admitting that it was just something that isn’t working for me currently. I COULD keep doing it, but I made the decision that there are better routes for me at this time.
This isn’t to say I won’t try it again. I think in a different time, I will probably give it another, probably longer, trial. It wasn’t as bad as I thought, and many of the smoothies tasted absolutely delicious. I don’t think it’s a “miracle diet” as some fanatics out there believe, but I do think it can cure a lot of mental and physical ails because of the mental and physical stress and contemplation it requires.
You tend to lurk toward the dark side? Oh no! Come into the light!
I’m glad this diet has worked out so well for you. You are doing the fruitarian diet, correct? That is quite impressive. What do your calorie and macro nutrient levels look like on a day to day basis?
